Ukrainian military serviceman, paratrooper, policeman, Chief of the Patrol Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, a participant in the war in eastern Ukraine, and "cyborg" Yevhen Zhukov (call sign 'Marshal') met with representatives of the "Pislya Sluzhby" Foundation, including its founder Edward Marshall and Director Halyna Sernivka.
Among the police officers, many participants have been in hostilities since 2014. During the full-scale invasion, the police and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service, the National Guard, the State Emergency Service, border guards, and territorial defense units stood as a solid shield to defend Ukraine and its people. During their service, many of them lost their lives or suffered injuries.
We intend to help all Ukrainian soldiers; the police are no exception. That is why we met with the Chief of the Patrol Police Department to offer assistance in rehabilitation and other matters handled by the Foundation. In addition, we discussed the difficulties and challenges police officers, including veterans, face in their service and addressed urgent issues where the Foundation can be helpful and find common ground.
We agreed to collaborate with police veterans because there are many veterans among the patrol officers, and we are ready to support them now, not necessarily just After Service. We want to provide veterans with additional education opportunities to improve their current work and offer quality and rapid retraining for their future careers after service.
