As an organization dedicated to veterans, "Pislya Sluzhby" actively participates in significant thematic events. Therefore, the foundation's team recently attended the "Respect. Experience. Perspective" forum at the Ukraine — Ukrinform Media Center.

The forum, held on June 27, brought together veterans, both men and women, along with government officials, representatives from civil society and business sectors. The objective of the forum was to discuss opportunities for veterans' reintegration, focusing on education and employment.

This event aimed to enhance communication with the veteran community, addressing their needs and opportunities in the areas of reintegration, education, and employment. It gathered influential employers, veterans, officials, representatives from civil society, and business sectors.

The forum was divided into three main parts:

  • Veteran policy: Present and future prospects.
  • Retraining and education.
  • Employment.

During the meeting, Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina outlined several key initiatives, including:

  • Introducing veterans' service windows in the Centers for the Provision of Administrative Services (CSCs) to cater specifically to combatants.

  • Implementation of the pilot project of the Institute of the Veteran's Assistant, which provides support, mentoring, and assistance in the integration of veterans upon their return from the front.

  • The establishment of the first Center for Veteran Development, located in Dnipro and operating within the Customs Service Academy. This center focuses on retraining veterans for civilian professions.

Minister Yulia Laputina also addressed the societal challenges faced by Ukraine, stating:

"After achieving victory, we will have up to 4 million people directly connected to veterans. This includes individuals with disabilities resulting from the war, as well as their families and the families of fallen heroes. Approximately 10 percent of the population will be associated with combatants. Few countries in the world have faced such a situation. We are cooperating with Croatia, the only European country that had a war 30 years ago, to learn from their experiences in implementing such policies. They have acknowledged that even after 30 years, they are still dealing with the consequences of war and continue to work on integrating people with combat experience into society. Therefore, as a ministry, we have taken the initiative to enhance capabilities and understanding. Despite the challenging budgetary circumstances due to nearly a decade of war, we have decided to establish the Ukrainian Veterans Fund as a state institution."
