We are committed to the successful career reintegration of veterans and servicemen and women after service. Our focus is primarily on support and advice in the areas of retraining, education and employment.
We achieve this through individual selection of the best commercial and state educational programmes for learning a new profession or improving existing skills. In addition, we offer free educational and training resources to facilitate veterans' smooth transition to civilian life. We actively cooperate with businesses to employ veterans.
We also provide training for Ukrainian employers and caregivers to improve strategies to reduce veteran turnover, increase veteran recruitment and navigation of civilian employment structures, and improve veterans' self-identification in civilian roles.

The Veteran Restart project aims to support veterans in their return to civilian life through re-skilling, mentoring and paid internships with the possibility of further employment.
The program allows participants to update their competencies in their chosen field, receive mentorship from experienced experts, and adapt to the modern work environment.

The first center to take part in this initiative was the "Oberig" Clinic’s Rehabilitation Center. As part of a joint event of the Pislya Sluzhby and the Kyiv Employment Center, we held our first career counseling sessions for our defenders currently undergoing treatment at "Oberig" Clinic’s rehabilitation center.
There were many questions, and once again, we realized just how crucial this support is. We discussed employment opportunities after military service, education and retraining programs, grants for starting a business, job search assistance, and the various services offered by both the Employment Center and Pislya Sluzhby Charitable Foundation.
The consultations were conducted by our case manager, Oleksandr Vitsan, and Iryna, a representative from the Kyiv Employment Center — both leading sessions back-to-back consultations in separate buildings. Eighteen wounded service members and veterans attended to listen and get their questions answered. Additionally, we personally visited those who were unable to move and held consultations right in their hospital rooms.
A special thank you to "Oberig" Clinic’s Rehabilitation Center for providing the opportunity to hold this event. We also sincerely appreciate the Kyiv Employment Center for their active support of our veterans.
Together, we are doing something truly meaningful for those who have already done everything possible for us.

In order to support veterans and their families, on September 24, 2024, the After Service Foundation organized consultations with specialists from the «Career Center» branch of the Kyiv City Employment Center.
Each veteran received an individual consultation, during which they were introduced to the modern range of social services provided by the Employment Service, opportunities to receive a voucher for training, grants and microgrants for starting and developing their own business.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the specialists of the Kyiv City Employment Center's «Career Center» branch for the professionalism and support they provided during the consultations. Your assistance to veterans in finding new opportunities is extremely valuable in the process of their adaptation to civilian life.

Last week the "Pislya Sluzhby” (After Service) Foundation held a series of trainings for TCR (Territorial Centres of Recruitment) employees on communication algorithms, social and psychological support for veterans and their family members, as well as for families of missing and fallen defenders.
Over the course of five days, our psychologist partners gave lectures on topics such as "Peculiarities of working with people released from captivity", "Stress resistance and self-regulation", "Support for military personnel and families", "YALOM protocol" etc.
This is the eighth training of the "Pislya Sluzhby” (After Service) Foundation in 2024 and the sixth training with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation. We helped to create veterans social support services, taught proper communication to TCR employees, and we have new trainings and a new constructive contribution to the country's development ahead.
Achieving victory together!

The seminars focused on the topic of combat stress.
Absolutely every participant in military operations experiences this condition, so it is crucial to talk about it with soldiers.
Nataliia acquainted the active military personnel with the typology of combat stress, namely constructive, destructive, infantilized and enraged one.
She explained the importance of psychological preparation for the prevention of combat stress. It includes training, open verbalization of thoughts and the ability to identify fear and stress.
Of course, the psychologist paid a lot of attention to relaxation and self-regulation techniques. They are useful both directly before combat actions and after the operation. These techniques include breathing and calming exercises (for example, the «Exhaling Fear – Inhaling Courage» exercise), as well as muscle relaxation training.
Focusing on controlling your actions and feelings also helps to relieve stress. Ask yourself simple but helpful questions like «Who am I? Where am I? What do I have to do?»
It is important for every military person to remember that stress cannot be avoided in wartime. However, it is within our power to recognize it, control it and provide help to ourselves and our comrades.

During the series of seminars, various topics related to psychological assistance and self-regulation were covered.
Participants had the opportunity to gain deeper insights into the following aspects:
The seminar program by the After Service Foundation also contributed to the development of skills in emotional self-regulation, stress management, and building healthy relationships. Participants received tools to recognize the signs of stress and learned how to respond to them in a timely manner and stabilize their mental state.
Thanks to these seminars, servicemembers and participants of the After Service Foundation received important tools for maintaining emotional stability and a positive mindset during difficult moments. Such skills are extremely important for those who face stress in everyday life and are in need of support.
The After Service Foundation continues to work on improving the quality of life of servicemembers and their families by providing essential support and training in the field of psychological well-being.

Education is undoubtedly one of the areas of work of the Pislya Sluzhby Foundation, specifically creating opportunities for veterans to learn.
Together with the NGO Brattya z Prykarpattya ("Brothers from the Prykarpattya"), we gathered a group of veterans in Kalush city to learn English and began the first classes.
The course is designed for 4.5 months, comprising 48 academic hours.
There are 10 service members in the group who are improving their language skills for future employment and better job opportunities.
The Pislya Sluzhby Foundation is making a significant impact by providing financial support for this education.
